Sumburgh Airport/Quendale (10 minutes by car): When leaving Sumburgh Airport, you will find yourself driving over the actual runway, which also forms part of the main road. Carry on along the main road and turn left at the junction to Quendale – here you will notice Allan’s of Gillock, Mainland’s Shop and Filling Station. From here drive exactly 1.5 miles to Fia Cottage on the right, recognisable by the white wall and purple railings. Northlink Ferry Terminal/Quendale (30 minutes by car: turn left onto North road (A970): turn right at the mini-roundabout then take 3rd exit at next mini-roundabout onto North Lochside (A970). At the next roundabout (at Tesco) take 3rd exit onto South Road (A970) then continue south approximately 21 miles. Turn right at the junction to Quendale, where you will notice Mainlands’ Shop and Filling Station. From here drive exactly 1.5 miles to Fia Cottage on the right, again recognisable by the white wall and purple railings

To get to the Chalet from Lerwick, take the A970 heading north and then at Tingwall, turn left to go west. You will see Tingwall airstrip – this is where all the inter-island flights leave from and also occasional emergency hospital flights to Aberdeen. A few minutes later you will reach a view point just above the Westings Hotel, from where you can see stunning views over the Whiteness Voe and Nesbister. Just around the ‘sweeping corner’ you will come to a sharp left turn into Nesbister. Follow this road for a few yards and then branch left and up the hill to Wormadale. From here you will see the ten colourful chalets – Chalet No 6 is the first one you come to.
To get to the Chalet from Sumburgh Airport, take the A970 heading north and then turn left at the main junction past Gulberwick, sign-posted Scalloway and the North. At the next junction turn right heading north until you reach the Brig of Fitch junction – turn left on to the A970 heading north. Then continue as above.
